omniscout Extended Battery Pack and Charger

What is it?

The omniscout Extended Battery Pack and Charger is a two-piece system designed for use with the omniscout Portable unit. The Charger has built-in circuitry that "fast-charges" a lithium ion cell in the omniscout Extended Battery Pack back up to 80% capacity in only four hours. The charger monitors the lithium ion cell, and reduces its charging output after an 80% charge is reached. The Charger then "deep-charges" the lithium ion cell for the remaining 20% of its maximum charge. A full 100% charge thus takes approximately six hours. Estimated lithium ion cell battery life is three hundred charges.

The omniscout Extended Battery Pack and Charger: Applications

The omniscout Extended Battery Pack is ideal for use with the omniscout Portable unit when a longer battery life is desired. The omniscout Extended Battery Pack includes seven high quality lithium ion cells housed in a magnetic waterproof case. The omniscout Extended Battery Pack easily attaches to the omniscout Portable via a "quick" connect harness. Total time to attach the omniscout Portable to the omniscout Extended Battery Pack is typically less than 30 seconds. *The typical operating life of a fully charged lithium ion cell in the omniscout Extended Battery Pack is 30-45 Days, with an omniscout Portable unit in "Low" GSM/GPRS - GPS tracking mode. The omniscout Extended Battery Pack is housed in a black, waterproof case with outside dimensions of 6.37" x 4.75" x 2.12" (16.2 x 12.1 x 5.4 cm). The lithium ion cell batteries are enclosed in vinyl shrink-wrap. The "quick" connect harness connects the battery pack directly to the Portable unit. The omniscout Charger has been designed and engineered for use with the omniscout Extended Battery Pack. Its unique two-stage charging circuitry will charge the lithium ion cell in the omniscout Extended Battery Pack to 80% capacity in just four hours and completely charge the lithium ion cell in six hours.
